Inspired by a sunset off the coast of Murano, the designer of this vase intended to capture the vibrant colors created by the sun as it set over the water.
The vase is made in the incaminciato technique. This technique is characterized by its thin, double layers, obtained by successively collecting layers of different colored glass out of the furnace's pot. This vase also features small flakes of silver and swirls of canne to add to its depth. Approximately 11 inches tall, 6 inches wide at the top and narrowing to a 4 inch base.
Handmade glass from Murano, Italy.
